MacBook not turning on and only pulling 5V from the charger ⚠️
This MacBook came into our workshop with a no power issue. Initial testing showed the device was only drawing 5V from the USB-C charger, which usually indicates a deeper power circuit problem.
After opening the device and disconnecting the battery for further testing, the machine remained stuck at 5V. Upon further diagnosis of the logic board, liquid damage was discovered affecting the power circuitry.
Liquid damage is one of the most common causes of MacBook failures and can lead to corrosion, short circuits and power issues if not addressed quickly.
A full diagnostic report has now been sent to the customer, and we are currently waiting for approval before proceeding with the repair.
