Data on your device
We do not need access to your personal files to repair most devices. Please back up your data and remove accounts or passcodes where you can before handing a device in. If we need access to test a repair, we will only access what is needed to test it and will not copy, keep or share your content.
Why we use your data and our lawful basis
- To carry out repairs, sales and purchases – performance of a contract.
- To take payment, keep accounts and meet tax, consumer-law and anti-fraud duties – legal obligation.
- To check ownership of devices we buy, prevent fraud and secure our website – legitimate interests.
- To answer your enquiries and send updates about your order or repair – contract or legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails – only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram adverts (Meta Pixel) – only with your consent through our cookie banner, which you can change at any time.
Who we share it with
We only share data where it is needed to provide our services: payment providers (Stripe, PayPal, Klarna), our website host (Hostinger) and network provider (Cloudflare), our email provider (Microsoft 365), Meta (Facebook and Instagram) for advert measurement if you accept advertising cookies, couriers for deliveries, and our accountants. We will share data with the police or other authorities where the law requires it, for example when a device offered to us is reported lost or stolen. We never sell your data.
International transfers
Some of our suppliers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep order, repair and purchase records for 6 years to meet tax and legal obligations. We keep enquiries that don’t lead to an order for up to 12 months. We keep marketing consent until you withdraw it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
